Reflecting on a Heavy Heart

I am overwhelmed with rage, sorrow, and helplessness over the ongoing genocide in Palestine. For years—decades—I’ve tried to protect my heart from the constant stream of bloodshed, hatred, and destruction. I’ve looked away from the news, avoided the updates, tried to shield myself from the agony of seeing children murdered, women violated, families erased, entire neighborhoods flattened under bombs.

But today, as I opened Facebook, I was flooded with truth. With videos. With pictures. With testimony. With undeniable facts, shared by people across the globe. It was impossible to scroll past. It grabbed my soul and shook it.

And amidst the horror, I saw something else.

People. Humanity. Standing up.
Protesters flooding the streets. Strangers locking arms with Palestinian brothers and sisters. A single human standing beside another, saying, “This is wrong. We will not be silent.”

That gave me hope.
That reminded me—it’s not us, the people. It’s the governments. The ones chasing power. The ones pushing their silent agendas to depopulate, erase, dominate, and play god.

I feel ragged. Empty. Furious.
And still—I keep pressing “Share.”
Again. And again. And again.
Each time, my rage grows, but so does my resolve.

We have the power.
To speak.
To act.
To change.
To stop the injustice—not just in Gaza, but everywhere it dares to exist.

Atrocities in Gaza and Palestine: What the World Must Know

  • Over 35,000 Palestinians killed since October 2023 alone, the majority of them women and children.
  • More than 70% of Gaza’s infrastructure destroyed—hospitals, schools, homes, mosques, and shelters.
  • Systematic targeting of medical teams and ambulances, leaving entire regions without aid or emergency response.
  • Over 1 million people displaced, forced to flee with nowhere safe to go.
  • Use of white phosphorus and other internationally banned weapons on civilians.
  • Mass starvation tactics—blockading food, water, and medicine from entering Gaza.
  • Journalists murdered to silence the truth. Over 100 Palestinian journalists killed since the latest escalations.
  • Children as primary victims—thousands orphaned, mutilated, or killed, their names and faces etched into the global memory.
  • Generations traumatized under occupation, siege, and constant threat of annihilation.
  • Collective punishment used as a strategy—entire families wiped out in one airstrike.

We cannot unsee this.
We cannot stay silent.
We must stand on the right side of history.

Wake up, world. This is not politics. This is humanity.
